The Wilderness Experience
The children of Israel journeyed through the desert for forty years. They did not know that their unbelief would lead them to be there for forty long years. Similarly in our wilderness experiences, there are lessons to be learnt. Take heart, do not be discouraged...The Holy Spirit is with us every step of the way.
- The wilderness experience is marked by hardship and pain.
- In the wilderness we learn to see by faith.
- Trust in God
- We learn to follow God and become warriors.
- We learn to intercede in prayer before God.
- God is self existent - He is the same God that our grand parents and great grand parents served,
- He existed before Facebook, Snapchat, microphones....
- Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. I.E He never changes
- There is a price to pay for the anointing of God, but if we pay the price the victory will be worth it.
I Hear the Sound of Rain
Isaiah 55:11- Rain is vital or important to our survival, if there is no rain the soil cracks, hardened and is open.
- Jeremiah 14:4;Job 14:7-9; Spring rain makes buds shoot and fruit comes forth.
- In dry times when we speak about the rain it means that it will be a future time of blessing.
- In the spiritual sense - The Holy Spirit brings forth fruit in our lives
- There will be some situations that bring pressure into our lives and this will cause us to go into the word of God to find the answers. Then we will walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. So that we may flourish. Isaiah 55:11
- God can make us instruments of grace. We need to mend or try to mend broken relationships.
- Old wine skins can't handle new wine. When God is ready to do business in our lives we can't go with the same old attitudes towards each other.
- The Holy Spirit will bring the rain to fulfill its purpose in our lives
- Life and vitality are hidden in the dry areas, rain makes the ground fruitful - when the rain falls flowers and shrubs spring up and grow.
- Let us seek God. Cry out to Him and ask Him to reign in righteousness in our lives. Hosea 10:12

Empowered To Serve
- How do we figure out how to serve God and others?
- We need the anointing of the Holy Spirit in order to serve. We ask the Holy Spirit to Move In, Pastors Move Aside, Members Move Up and the Church Moves OUT.
- God has to be sure that we are ready to serve.
- God does this at our invitation.
- How does God empower and prepare us?
- He leads us to a hard place to see what we are made of. In the Wilderness... Luke 4:3-4
- Jesus had authority but He submitted to God.
- In the same way our flesh must die - The anointing is given to us in order to serve.
- Wrapped up in God's power is God's provision.
- During the temptations of Jesus, Satan wanted Jesus' worship BUT it belongs to God. God gives us blessings for His kingdom.
- Our nation needs a group like the Prophet Elisha. There are areas with dead/stagnant water.
- God wants us to be the salt in the water.
- Don't turn anything into idols...
- God will empower us.... but not for our own whims and fancies.
- We will have seasons of testing but God wants to bring us through victoriously.
- Surrender to God's authority.
